Wesley Calvert comes from a family of Southern Illinois school teachers. He has provided professional development in Illinois, Kentucky, and overseas, in the areas of K-12 teacher content knowledge, especially problem solving, conceptual understanding, and interpretation of student work, together with problem-based pedagogy. He participates in a Noyce Master Teaching Fellows program funded by the National Science Foundation to promote problem-based and place-based learning. Wesley also serves on state and national committees on high-school/college articulation.
Wesley earned his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 2005, and has been a Fulbright scholar. His research specialty is mathematical logic and computation.
